Amadou Onana joined Aston Villa from Everton in July 2024. The midfielder arrived at Villa Park after starring for the Toffees for two seasons.
He made an instant impact for Villa, scoring the first goal just four minutes into his debut in a 2-1 win at West Ham United on the opening day of the 2024/25 campaign.
Strikes against Leicester City and Young Boys followed, as the Belgian notched three times in his first five outings in claret and blue.
Onana went on to make 34 appearances in 2024/25, finding the net on five occasions.
A fans' favourite, he enjoyed an even more successful 2025/26 campaign, making 38 appearances and helping Villa beat Freiburg 3-0 in the UEFA Europa League final to clinch long-awaited European silverware.
Onana appeared as a second-half substitute in Istanbul, his 12th appearance in the competition, as well as helping Unai Emery's side secure fourth place in the Premier League and Champions League football for 2026/27. He was duly selected in Belgium's World Cup squad for 2026, making four appearances in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Onana has accrued plenty of experience at the top end of the game in his young career so far, featuring for Belgium at a World Cup and European Championship. He also featured in the Champions League for LOSC Lille before his move to Everton in 2022.
A dynamic central midfielder, Onana made a name for himself in Germany with TSG Hoffenheim and Hamburg after leaving his homeland.
