Boubacar Kamara joined Aston Villa from Marseille in May 2022.

The midfielder's classy style of play and calmness on the ball made him a mainstay of the team during his debut campaign as a Villan. Kamara made his Villa bow when he started against AFC Bournemouth on the opening day of the 2022/23 Premier League season, going on to make 26 appearances.

His first goal for the club came in a Carabao Cup tie against Everton in September 2023, although his 2023/24 campaign was cut short in February as he suffered a significant knee ligament injury.

Kamara returned to action in October and went on to enjoy 42 appearances in all competitions in 2024/25, netting his first Premier League goal against Tottenham Hotspur in May, and was rewarded with a new long-term contract in July 2025, keeping him at Villa Park until 2030.

The Frenchman was enjoying a strong 2025/26 campaign when his season was ended by injury in January 2026, but he still picked up a winners' medal after the team triumphed in the Europa League.

Having appeared for France at a host of international youth levels, he made his senior debut for Les Bleus in June 2022.
