Biography
Aston Villa announced the signing of Brian Madjo from FC Metz in January 2026.
The exciting young prospect joined for an undisclosed fee, having come through the youth Academy at Metz, making his debut for the French side in August 2025.
Enfield-born Madjo has been capped three times at senior international level by Luxembourg and also represented England’s Under-17s.
Madjo enjoyed a prolific start to pre-season in the summer of 2026 and, in early August, Villa confirmed the club’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding the registration of the 17-year-old had been upheld.
Madjo, a UK citizen raised in Luxembourg, had previously been unable to play due to FIFA‘s rules on the international transfer of minors. The court’s decision meant he could be registered as an Aston Villa player and eligible to play in official competition matches for the forthcoming 2026/27 season.
The highly-rated forward duly scored Villa’s equaliser in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain at Stadion Salzburg in Austria, before Unai Emery’s side fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat in the prestigious fixture.
