Young Dutchman Lamare Bogarde joined Aston Villa from Feyenoord in the summer of 2020.

Bogarde enjoyed his Premier League debut for the club against Leicester City in August 2024, the first of 16 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign, including four in the UEFA Champions League.

He made his first-team debut for Villa against Liverpool in the FA Cup third round in January 2021. A matter of days after the cup tie, Bogarde signed his maiden professional contract with the club.

Ending the 2020/21 season on a high, Bogarde helped Villa win the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 2002. He impressed on loan at Bristol Rovers in League One, making 18 appearances during 2022/23. He headed back to Rovers for the first half of the 2023/24 campaign before returning to Villa in January 2024.

Bogarde established himself in the first team under Unai Emery and was part of the squad which won the Europa League in 2025/26, making 44 appearances across the season as Villa also finished fourth in the Premier League.

Bogarde has also earned international honours, representing the Netherlands at U15, U16, U18, U20 and U21 levels.
