Goalkeeper Zion Suzuki made the switch to Aston Villa from Parma in August 2026. The move came on the back of a strong showing at the FIFA World Cup with Japan, where he featured in all four of their matches.

Born in the USA, Suzuki moved to Japan as a youngster and honed his skills in the academy at Urawa Red Diamonds. His senior debut came in a J League Cup match at age 18 and he gained experience before joining Belgian side Sint-Truiden on loan for the 2023/24 season.

After impressing in the Pro League, Parma came calling. Suzuki played 59 games for the Italian outfit over two seasons before sealing a transfer to Villa.
