Two wins from two in the Players Cup

Aston Villa Women continued their 100% start in the Players Cup by defeating Newcastle United 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Lily Murphy opened the scoring inside ten minutes at Keys Park to mark her first goal in claret and blue since joining the club this past summer.

Visitors Newcastle equalised midway through the first half, though Lucia Kendall later supplied a second half brace off the bench to secure a deserved victory in interim head coach Brian Sørensen's first game in charge.
